Church Sends Ministers to Sister Church
A group of ministers sent by OECO to minister to a sister church, the Oromo Evangelical Church in Trondheim, returned home with a sense of accomplishment. Our church sent a team of ministers to the conference after the request of the host church. This team of 7 ministers consisting preachers, worship leaders and gospel singers served diligently on the two days conference held on Saturday and Sunday 30 and 31 October in the city of Trondheim some 550km away from Oslo.

Pastor Desalegn Mengesha and Evangelist Wake Jio delivered powerful sermons on the conference.
Pastor Desalegn’s teaching, which was entitled “God has a purpose for your life”, was based on Luk 19: 1-10, the story of Zacchaeus. Being guest of a sinner, Jesus said “I must stay at your house today”. At this moment we see Zacchaeus’ repentance and a real change in his life. The teaching pointed out the genuine changes occurring in a sinner’s life when encountering with Jesus.
Evangelist Wake Jio delivered a prophetic message entitled “You will see greater things than that.” His sermon was based on John 1:43-51, the encounter of Nathanael with Jesus. Jesus observed the excitement of this rather sceptic man when He told Nathanael that He saw him under a fig tree. Jesus said, “You will see greater things than that.” He then added, “Very truly I tell you, you will see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
Our gospel singers and worship leaders graced this conference on which believers from the city of Trondheim and the surrounding counties poured in.
The Oromo Evangelical Church in Trondheim is a growing vibrant church established two years ago aimed at reaching the Oromo immigrant community of the surrounding and far beyond.
